Throughout the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, there are villages where Berber women create intricate weavings of pillowcases, rugs, saddlebags, and wall hangings. This pillowcase represents a newer design and was probably created by a younger woman. This pillowcase was purchased in the souks of Marrakech on our March 2020 trip to Morocco. Made of wool and cotton, each piece is unique and contains irregularities since it is individually made on looms. The reverse side is cream cotton and contains a zipper across the back.
